I don't play along with these games. I appreciate the sentiment, but going braless isn't going to change anything.

Don't get me started on Go Grey in May....

That's because you're a gargantuan and your nipples are at normal people's eye level. Sorry, but it needed to be said.

Yes

My mother, a breast cancer survivor, posted a good rant on Facebook the other day about all the pink BS that doesn't really help anyone.

I've complained about it here, it was not met enthusiastically by several people.

Come on, next you're gonna tell me all the "Let's honor the Veterans" stuff at games is actually a recruiting campaign by the armed forces.

How you get from point a to point b astounds me sometimes. I mean it
nice and friendly like, but it astounds me sometimes.

point a is a thing they do at sporting event that's more advertising disguised as charity and point b is a thing they do at sporting event that's more advertising disguised as charity...

not really a great leap.

I will enthusiastically agree. It's gotten silly.

I don't know why you want to lump me in some group because of an
inane thread about my not wearing ladies undergarments today.

But, whatever... let's go Mets!!

Re: How many of you are braless today?

if this day somehow magically gets just one woman to give herself a self-examination, and catch cancer early, then i suppose it'll have accidentally served its supposed purpose.

There's gotta be a better way, though. and save the tatas ain't it, neither. pinktober comes close, i guess, but sheesh, does it have to be that pink?

wait, wait... what? i can't tell which side you're coming down on here? pinktober does nothing, or honoring the vets is a plea for enlistment.

It's a fine line. The NFL/corporations don't really care. It's a money thing. but it's not a total sham. Brute force. I mean, many seemingly more reputable charities give a similar or not much better percentage of profits to actual research than the NFL/Pinktober. Other organizations probably do a better job with the pink stuff, but just barely.

But the NFLs #1 priority (I mention the NFL because they're the biggest and most vocal pink promoter) is making money. And it's the same with the honoring veterans thing. Their #1 priority is the money the military gives them to do that. Sure a serviceman gets a nice ovation or free tickets to a game (well, sometimes free) but that's almost an afterthought.

Re: How many of you are braless today?

I want a comparable month for dudes, to bring awareness to prostate cancer, where we all encourage each other to have doctors stick fingers in our assholes. I don't care what color you use to push this agenda forwards, mocha maybe.

May seems like the best month, because then all the shirts can say, "MAY I stick a digit in your shit luge?"

He's the normal sized one. We're used to being insulted by the dimensionally challenged.

On-field personnel including players, managers, coaches, trainers, umpires and groundskeepers will wear blue wristbands and blue ribbon uniform decals symbolizing prostate cancer awareness. The blue ribbon logo also will appear on the official dugout lineup cards, which will be blue.
