Kids, grandkids, urchins from the neighborhood. Post photos and reports on costumes here.

Weetar's going as Batgirl. Tried to get a picture this morning (trick or treat parade at daycare) but she was too weepy about the headband.

We're trick or treating in Bayside this year. I never got myself a costume but I realized there's no way I could go in anything other than my Wright jersey and hat anyway.

Re: Halloween Fun

MMYF is making a Wonder Woman costume for the grandkids' party.
I'll be working.
Since there are a lot of MFY fans in my neighborhood, I looked for a Sweeny Murti mask, but couldn't find one. If I can find a Bobby Jindal mask, I'll get it and darken in the eyes. In case you haven't seen him, Murti looks like a Zombie Bobby Jindal. Talk about a face for radio. Sheesh.
If I can't find one then its no costume for me.

Re: Halloween Fun

If they're anything like the ones in my family, little little ones HATE headgear.

Mine, at last night's PTA Halloween Party/Kids Running Around Clotheslining Other KidsFest:

L-to-R: YoungerPooper, best friend Sophia

Hudson (as young Obi Wan), YP

And, for your viewing enjoyment, second-grader Harry, for the 4-wins-out-of-5:

If I had million dollars, I'd give it all to Harry.

Great Mr. Met!

I want to know how that Mr. Met head was made. I've tried and its quite an undertaking.

Re: Halloween Fun

Gotta be papermache. Otherwise it'd weigh a ton. Maybe around one of those enormous yard balls you can buy now.
My neighbor has one with a face on it that they always strategically place so it's looking at me. I gotta yell at Ray for that sometime.

BTW, I would love to share my grandkids' pics but that Google datacatcher thing scares the shit out of me. I don't feel this place is private anymore cos of that. That's why I took my picture off the other thread.

Just saying.

Youre probably right - that was always the problem - not having anything large enough and round enough to put the papier mache over.

Oh har, har!

Actually you'd have your choice of the one with the face or a Disney Princess one.

Thanks but I've already got my costume for this year all set, maybe next year though.

A soupcan, no doubt...

After yesterday's wind those balls are probably halfway to your house anyway. Along with my garbage can lid.

Have fun! :D

I'm gonna try to pull this one off but prolly not. Lunchpail insisted on some lame store bought costume of a video game character in a game he doesn;t event play.

Nope..

Unoriginal I know but quite inexpensive as all I had to purchase was the wig.

I'll trim it a bit before the party.

Re: Halloween Fun

Every year I think to do this, but never have. I want to buy one of those five-pound Hershey bars (they cost about $45) and pick one kid to give it to. Let's say there are four kids at the door. I'd have three pieces of candy in my hand and one kid would be left without. I'd say, oops, I need one more. Do you like chocolate? And if the kid says yes, I'd pull out the five-pound bar and give it to him or her.

I'd only do this for a little kid (around five years old) who's with his or her parents so that the kid wouldn't be stuck hauling around the giant candy bar.

We'll miss Halloween this year - we have a baseball game to attend. But my middle guy (who is not a baseball fan) will be home to hand out candy to the little ones.

Let's Go Mets!

Indeed it was papier-mache, with a handmade wire-sphere, and a football raised-neck pad for support.

Re: Halloween Fun

minimm is going tomorrow as thor - the avenger, not the pitcher.

the µmm's will be superman (L) and batman (R). i was originally thinking that µmmL should go as hulk, but i couldn't think of a good pairing for µmmR to be. µmmL has a bit of a temper, and he can go all hulk-smash when he gets angry. he's also friggin' huge and strong and unruly and whatnot -a force of friggin' nature! and so of course, today, it finally dawns on me (bonk - coulda had a v-8) that mild-mannered, little µmmR would be perfect as bruce banner. gaaaahhhh!!!!!!

oh well. there's always next year.

µmmL also has perfect luke-skywalker-on-tatooine hair, so there's always that...

me, i'm going to continue my string of supremely low-effort costumes. in the past, i wear a dress shirt over a superman t-shirt - instant clark kent! this year, i'll be wearing one of those little circular LED touch lights under my shirt - BAM! tony stark!

Now that it's officially the date, this song needs to be played at least once every Oct 31st

Awesome . I particularly like the away jerseys. I just realized I don't own one a those.

My brother carved this. More awesomeness.

Agreed. We handed out a bunch of stuff, hoping desperately that we'd run out before 8. Today's my husband's birthday so he did the honors.

One kid in a Steelers uni was rubbing his leg so I called him Ben Rothlisberger. He just laughed

This creepy Michael Myers kid didn't want no candy. He just hung around my corner following little kids really slowly, standing and staring at people, playing the Halloween theme out of the speaker under his clothing. Always with the staring. Here he is on my lawn.
