Just in Case You Forgot Who Traded Kazmir for Zambrano

Mets get to try to somehow field a lineup with four left fielders, two of which have yet to prove themselves outside of Colorado, but otherwise... it's still crazy.

What about Wheeler for Gonzalez? I thought of him when I realized that Wheeler only gets traded for guys named "Carlos".

That's just plain crazy.

I men, how do you not include Harvey in that deal, there?

absurd. I have NO INTEREST in taking on Gonzalez and his contract.

He can't stay healthy. He is owed a ton of money. His numbers away from Coors field (career) - .255/.310/.441. He is pretty much Marlon Byrd in a hitter's park.

Well I like that he recognizes that the Mets need offense. And I like that he suggests that the Mets should not shy away from adding payroll. After that, pretty much nothing.

I suspect Gonzalez could be had for a lot less if one takes on the entire salary. Plus, in addition to the coors splits, he sucks against lefties, and is as streaky as Duda.

I think it's worth a try if they Rocks want very little in return, but if they start asking Matz, or even Wheeler, then I say no.

Maybe the Rocks could trade him to Seattle for Robinson Cano.

Looks like that screen shot left out the other 4 or 5 players the Mets were getting back in that deal.

Maybe it's just something about former NYM GMs turned media guys cuz I remember Steve Phillips (I wonder where he is these days?) back when he was an ESPN talking head concocting a deal for the Nats to deal away the then recently drafted Steven Strasburg for some expensive veteran help, maybe Cliff Lee.
Of course it wasn't known then how quickly Lee's career was to fall off the cliff but, even with Strasburg losing a year+ to TJ surgery, that still would have been an egghead move for the then not-yet competitive Nationals to make.
