You have about $3 million to spend. Maybe two or maybe four. Which of these right-handed hitting reserve/platoon outfielders do you go for?

Feel free to go off book here. Just mind the budget.

Re: Who's Your Lefty-Masher?

Byrd likely too expensive for $3M budget and likely gets an offer with more guaranteed PT. Would need to up budget and appeal to his lack of World Series ringzzzz.

Pearce would fit nicely in that Mets have an opening for a guy who wears #28. But he seems very unpredictable, as does Rayburn.

No Frenchy!

How does a team guarantee playing time?

It's more of a promise of intent than an ironclad guarantee.

Shades of K-Rod.

Yeah, more seeming opportunity is what I mean.

I think with lefties in both corners and at frst, the Mets have an opportunity but would be more choppy maybe than a straight, more predictable platoon Byrd might get with Gregor Blanco in SF, for example.

The Indians signed Rajai Davis yesterday for $5.25M. Too steep for our blood.

I'm a little bit surprised we didn't get in on Justin Ruggiano, whom the Rangers got for less than $2M.

Re: Who's Your Lefty-Masher?

Raburn also pitches. So there's that.

Pearce also plays second. So there's THAT.

Pearce is poor-to-fair with the glove. Rayburn-- at this point-- is close-to-Gawdawful. Plus, Pearce is a little younger. Give me the younger, cheaper (most likely?) one, who could actually start for a month if needed to.

Oh, I thought there was some Mets transaction I had missed.

How kind of you to refer to Frenchy as the sort of player real teams sign. I'd be flattered if I were him.
