Byrd likely too expensive for $3M budget and likely gets an offer with more guaranteed PT. Would need to up budget and appeal to his lack of World Series ringzzzz. Pearce would fit nicely in that Mets have an opening for a guy who wears #28. But he seems very unpredictable, as does Rayburn. No Frenchy!

Raburn also pitches. So there's that. Pearce also plays second. So there's THAT. Pearce is poor-to-fair with the glove. Rayburn-- at this point-- is close-to-Gawdawful. Plus, Pearce is a little younger. Give me the younger, cheaper (most likely?) one, who could actually start for a month if needed to.
