Read Volume I here, as for the second straight offseason, the Mets lose Eric Young, Jr. to a minor league contract.

I remember re-acquiring him. And I remember thinking this was the perfect move to make for expanded rosters. Moves like this I felt really showed how committed Sandy was to going for it, and made me feel like we were in great hands for the future. I don't remember if EY actually played a crucial role at any point in September. But we can thank the Nats, and to a lesser extent, the Braves, for making much of it obsolete.

More hustle than talent. A good guy, but not much to show for his Mets tenures.

I remember being enthused they left him off the postseason roster for better players.
