On the next at bat Clemens drilled his son in the head with a fastball.

a) Smells like a big setup.

b) Way to jerk a team around

c) If he does sign with Houston eventually, that's Piazza and Clemens in the same division. Oh, the seven-year-old drama!

The Astros play in Houston, Texas, which would be Central. Perhaps you have it confused with Houston, Idaho.

Nope just have a mind that can't let go of the two-division world I grew up in. Duh on me.

]Koby Clemens Hits Homer off Roger Clemens in First At-Bat

remember when Cal Ripken homered in his last all-star game? Well that was less cheap than this i'd bet.

Ho hum.

Early Wynn did the same thing to his kid abut 50+ years ago, after the kid got a hit off him in BP at old Comiskey Park.

Considering what a congenital asshole Roger is, and the fact his kid plays ball, this was just a matter of time.

I suspect that if Koby's bat were to shatter and Roger impaled his son on one of the shards, the press would say the same damn thing.

Sort of like Vern Law's family, whose first names all began with V.

Would you rather he named them all George Foreman?

Hey, we have a Cooby. What's wrong with Koby?

I guess this proves that his control is so good that he can feel confident enough to buzz his kid's head yet know that he's not going to hit him. Not that we needed any further proof about the Piazza beaning and "the ball getting away" from him. William Tell me another one, Roger.

Edited as I had a backspace error resulting in "needn't."

I thought the exact same thing when I heard this unfortunately.

I guess my sense of humor is misplaced this morning or something but I felt a little uncomfortable when I heard about this. I undertstand that it was all in good fun and that Roger has likely pitched to his son on countless other occassions but there is something that doesn't feel completely right to me about a father buzzing his son, no matter how good his control is or how he meant it.

Koby, how did you learn to hit your father like that?
