BLC: U2 v. Led Zep
HahnSolo Feb 27 2006 02:20 PM |
U2 challenges Led Zeppelin. Here is the U2 lineup (the same as used in its win over REM).

This is a pretty pure lineup matchup. Vocals/Guitar/Bass/Drums, with both vocalists rarely augmenting the instrumental lineup, and both with strong falsettos. U2 has a guitarist doubling on synth, Led Zep had a bassist doubling on mellotron.

Will post LZ's lineup this evening.

I shook my lineup up a bit, adding my personal favorite Zep song, 'Boogie with Stu' and another classic that I hope will garner some votes - 'Misty Mountain Hop'

That's a fine looking list Soupcan. "Misty " is a classic, beats 'unforgettable fire' easy....

Very tough for me. Big U2 fan and while I wasn't one of those kids with the Swan Song dude painted on the back of my jean jacket in high school I nevertheless appreciate the megawatt tuneage that the ZOSO boys threw out there.

No, Wham's a band with George Michael and Andrew Ridgely. And I don't think Edge ever played with Zeppelin.

Electric Co. over Boogie With Stu? Oh, yeah.
|
metirish Feb 28 2006 03:17 PM |
Stu does nothing for me, you shoulda kept 'Traveling Riverside Blues' in the game.....

You know what? I meant to take out 'Down By The Seaside and leave 'Travelling Riverside Blues' Oopsie.
You have no soul.

Time is up on this one and the Cure/REM contest. Willets, will you give Led Zeppelin and REM their wins and U2 and REM their losses.
|
Johnny Dickshot Mar 02 2006 04:22 PM |
REM won and lost, sorta like W.

Ooh, I'm official scorekeeper now. Makes sense to edit the first post though so folks need not scroll through the thread.

Well, Edgy is outta town or something and you did create that new thread so yes I think you are the official scorekeeper. No extra pay, however.
