Why can't men and women compete against each other in curling?

The Johnson Sisters could give the men a run for their money lol. I love curling ... it's on CNBC right now. I like when they stand around and discuss strategy and how they yell at each other as the rock is in motion. The only thing they're missing is some 16 oz Solo cups full of beer and some cigars when they're talking about the next shot - but I guess they can't do that at the Olympics.
