Oh boy. We've had some winners. Lots of Asian names that are probably normal overseas, but dirty here, like Long Yang and Yang Yang, but a recent favorite was a girl whose first and middle names were "Special To-Me". I don't remember the last name.

Acquaintance -- a teacher in the Bronx -- was surprised to find boy-girl twins in his elementary class both named Yo.

Yo Highness and Yo Majesty.

Not making it up.

When I had surgery, the anesthesiologist was named Dr. Hurt.

Another Dr's name I saw when reviewing papers at a former job is Mark Needle, although I first saw it as Needle, Mark.

Finally, there is a professor I know of named Sharp who originally hyphenated her name when she got married but now just goes by Dr. Paine.

My wife, teacher in NYC, once had a kid whose first name was SirParis. Kid's mom apparently thought this was a way to give child proper respect, so that whenever anybody called his name, they'd say Sir.
I don't know about respect, but the teachers all got a good chuckle out of it.

Had a teacher in grade school name Mrs. Wulfart (wolf fart) who was ugly as sin
itself. I assure you that us eight year-old boys acted with the utmost of maturity when
talking about her around the jungle-jim.

The nastiest religious school teacher I ever had was a woman named Mrs. Gross.

She truly was.

Seamen (First Class) Staynes.

I never saw a guy rise through the ranks faster than he did-- and who could blame him?

I'm just thankful he wasn't on the baseball team-- some wiseguy would no doubt make cracks about how tough it was to get him out!

My fifth grade teacher was named Mr. Dick.

Taught me everything I know, he did.
