Re: ST IGT 03/07, Mets @ Cardinals

Actually, the Tigers are at Mets on SNY... metsdotcom had the other split
squad game (I'm assuming) listed...

Tejada and Conforto on with 1 out.

Curve strikes out Plawecki though, so 2 outs.

a walk by Matz but nothing else. Some solid middle infield play sounded like .

Muno drives in one and Reynolds thrown out at home. 1-0 Mets.

Cards get it right back on a single by their italian hard cookie. (Piscotti)

They threw Matz for 3, for whatever that's worth.

What does MLB Channel put on in the tri-state area when the Mets
are on but can't be shown? A Derek Jeter special, of course.

Jeff Walters having a rough return to action. Error by Krause at 1B not helping.

Ynoa will replace him.

2 runs score on a single/error by Travis Taijeron, which I did not know this before 2016 is pronounced "Tyrone"

We actually had this conversation the other day -

Me - Ynoa pitched next.

D-Dad - No, was it Matz?

Me - No - Ynoa!

Fortunately this didn't go on too long.

I can remember watching these games eagerly. Is it just me or has something happened?

ST is longer than it used to be and more games are broadcast now as compared to yesteryear.
They were always mostly meaningless, you just used to pay slightly more attention when you barely got a glimpse of them.

My personal Fact of the Day, too.

Happened to catch the in-game interview with Smoker, who seems eminently likable.

Re: ST IGT 03/07, Mets @ Cardinals

I caught the Taijeron/Tyrone pronunciation over the weekend. Color me impressed, but why should anybody be surprised to find Gary in mid-season form?

He looked like a player over the weekend, but maybe he fits the axiom of AAAA players being the guys who do things right 90% of the time, while big leaguers do it 99%, or something.

Re: ST IGT 03/07, Mets @ Cardinals

All day I avoided the IGT, because I was recording the game to watch tonight on the DVR, and it turns out that this wasn't the game on TV at all. Damn split quad.

I've watched and enjoyed the Mets leading the Tiggers 7-2 in the 9th at this point in the recording. Big hits were by Duda and Walker, 3 strong innings by Colon, though the 9th inning is a poo fest for the Mets staff here at the end.
