Question for youse peoples: Anyone familiar with tunein radio? I put it
on my tablet just now in hopes that I could listen to WFOM in Atlanta and
it works just fine and it's free. Are baseball games that are broadcast over
the internet on radio feeds free all the time or is this a spring training thing?
They do offer a premium upgrade or something for $8/mo to unlock stuff that
I haven't really looked into yet.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure they used to be blocked out. I remember trying to listen to WFAN online for instance, and the Mets game wasn't there it was just filler. This was a few years ago before I regularly bought MLB At Bat but I doubt it's changed for the better.

..but

There are a lot of stations along the 'Mets radio network' and I feel like if you find an online feed for some obscure Plattsburgh radio station that airs the Mets games, they might not black it out and no one might ever notice to chase them down over it.

Thanks, I'll have to research more. I was being lazy. Access to
100,000 radio stations in one place sounds intriguing.

I mean, other than sports, that's what it is. When I originally downloaded it i think it was to listen to WFAN while at work. IHeartRadio has a bunch of stations too.

Re: IXGT, 3/8/16, Harvey's Spring Debut

My only experience with this sort of thing is with the NFL. When I discovered a few years ago, that the SF radio stations that carry the 49ers games fed their broadcasts over the internet, I figgered I could listen in on the games. It worked. I think this was in 2011, Harbaugh's first season as head coach. I was surprised that I could do this because I then learned that NFL games are blocked from this sort of service because the NFL runs some pay package deal where you could, for a fee, listen to any NFL radio broadcast. One week though, as expected, the thing didn't work anymore. Instead of the game, I got some talk show. It's quirky, though. Some weeks it works, and some weeks it doesn't.

Hope you found this to be helpful.

Yes, thanks. Maybe I'll start a internet radio thread on the NBF.

I think if you hear a game on a non-MLB approved stream it's a mistake but don't say anything. I have tunein as an app on the sonos at home.

Some "live" shows even non-MLB are not available on the stream anymore, for example Ken Dashow's Beatles show no longer plays on IHeartRadio or TuneIn, but is available on terrestrial. Making me eat breakfast in my car.

It may just be a spring training thing. I don't think these games have the same copyright protection that regular- and post-season games have. I know I can watch Mets spring training games on SNY from where I live (at least I could last time I tried, which was at least a few years ago) but SNY is blacked out during the regular season when the Mets are playing.

Listen, you nerds, this is an IXGT, and I'm not hearing a lot of IXGT chatter.

Mets lead 3-2, for they are the superior squadron. Wilmer Flores has two hitties, Juan Lagares has knocked in two, and four Mets have walked through two innings. Ruben Tejada has been Ruben TeNADA, as he's whiffed twice in three at-bats, and Matt Harvey gave up one run in three innings, scuffling all the way as he yielded three hits and two walks, while fanning only one.

Rafael Montero has relieved and gave up a run in his first inning, lowering his ERA to 22.50.

While typing that, Wilmer Flores made a liar out of me, singling for his third hit, and plating Roger Bernadina. Mets lead by an insurmountable 4-2 score.

We're at 4-3 through 7. Got a two-hit scoreless inning from Chasen Bradford, so the Mets continue to live on borrowed time.

Chase Huchingson coming in, on this, the Chasiest day in Mets history. Huchingson isn't even a camp invitee, but he's been floated up for the day to absorb an inning on behalf a split-squad-depleted staff.

Zach Thornton comes in with that same one-run lead in the ninth and coughs it all up. Your final is 5-4 Braves.
