Once again this year we have 11 participants, which is awkward, so hoping for a 12th.

Any number one-point tiles would have completed his bingo, but he works off the T in CHESTY and cleverly bridges two DWS squares to get the coveted quadruple word score.

I counter with the boring HOO, hooking the H on a TLS square.

I got lucky. I did a two-tile trade-in and then pulled the two tiles I needed for the most classick and obvious of bingos: RETINAS.

I then drew GIKNSU_ out of the bag and immediately saw SUCKING. Pure luck by a player who is otherwise in a deep Scrabble slump. It could happen to you!

Was able to get nine points on my last turn, down 15, with 'AX' and get the six points in Ceet's hand, which ended up being the difference in the game.

I scored the bingo DENTOID but aside from that played with mostly crappy tiles. My best play otherwise was building WREN to also make FEE and ERN.

yeah. Good game. (who do I play now?)

My downfall was playing the MIC on the triple word score to exhaust the bag while still holding the J. It left me with JOSEGNK and very few places to play the J and the K. Even on the very last turn I was desperately looking for a places to play KEGS and couldn't find one. (I opted to dump the J on the JO on the right rather than play KI/KEG for 18 because I didn't see anywhre else to put the J.

I took a big lead in the early innings with good draws and a good board but FMan put up some points too (WICCAN, TROUTINGS) and made it a game. What sealed the victory was a late-board play COZ/LOP/APE for 34 after he'd pulled close. 407-343 is your final score.

I will play the Marathon-Ochoseis winner next; FMan will have to chill until LWFS-Willets winner vs. SMG-Seawolf Winner winner is determined.

Our game got weird when I drew both blanks and an S two turns in and of course spent them all in one place (BOOSTED). He came right back with RESENDS and it was lead-swapping turn by turn till a devastating two-letter, trip-word dagger JO for 49, our Miller Lite turning point of the night. I had nothing left but Os and Us so never caught back up. Fman may take notice of CLIT and DIVER on the triple words.

You wait while 6 other games get played. You will play either me or who beats me in my next game.

First we need the LWFS-Willets winner to play the SMG-Seawolf winner. That winner faces Fman.

We also need the Michigan-Ceter winner to play Edgy. That winner faces Ochoseis.

Then the winners of Fman and Ochoseis' next game play, with that winner facing me, then you. If you lose that game, it's a rematch for all the marbles.

Re: CPF Scrabble WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2016

I'm BFF'd up with ceetar on Fezbook, but when I search for friends to play Scrabble with, his name doesn't appear.

Anybody else have a similar problem? cents, if you can find me, maybe you can start the game.

ceets is taking me apart. Vowels, I draw. So many vowels.

I finally worked my rack to get RAISING to appear in it. I spent a day looking for a place to play it and finally anagrammed and was able to play AIRINGS. I thought that might re-launch me into competition, but then the vowel fairy returned.

Despite the fact that I keep doing stupid shit, the tile gods have been good to me, so the current score is Ochoseis 296, Ceetar 249. 24 tiles left. Ceetar played JOUSTER with two blanks. I've played ATELIERS and CENTERS. No blanks, but those ERS combinations make life very easy.

Bingoed with CENTERS. I played it last turn, but hooked the R off HOLE to play HOLER, which I thought was good. It wasn't, so I had to pass and hope that I could find a legal spot for CENTERS this turn. I did, but there's now a nice fat triple word score waiting for you when you get back to the game.

Played a game with Lunchbucket in almost real time. Nice game. Lots of words. Big words. I came out on top, 435-331, but the big difference was due to a late game bingo; it was pretty close for most of the day.

I challenge Marathon, who will win the championship if he wins one before I win two.

I was lucky/unlucky to get the blanks and the money tiles too early and couldn't capitalize the way I oughta -- best I could do was RUNLESS, spilling a blank and an S. After he dropped AVERSION on a triple word there wasn't enough bling left in the bag to catch up.
