You Say It's Her Birthdays

Today is my mom's 86th birthday. I truly doubt that it has ever been 65 degrees on her birthday before

Tomorrow (Leap Year Day) my sister will be 64 years old. However, it is just her 16th birthday (born 2/29/52), so my mom and my niece (Vicki's daughter) are having a surprise sweet sixteen party for her!
We are all pretending it is really 1968 and those of us who remember way back then are wearing tie dye, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, etc....I think it'll be fun. Having pizza, soda, etc. If mom digs out the old records, I'll dance.
I got Vicki a Beatles teeshirt and a big book about the 1960's British Invasion: music, fashion, movies, etc.

Some of you may recall that my sister found out about 18 months ago that she has brain cancer, so for her to still be here with us is really super groovy :D

(FYI, she's doing pretty good considering)

There's cause for celebration for your family far beyond the birthdays.
A very happy day to the entire family.

Make sure to bring all your "45's"

My sister (six years younger than yours) had a case exactly like this one for all of hers.
And if that doesn't say 1968 nothing does.

That's great, Coo.

My dad had two birthdays. In his sixties, he was taking an overseas trip. Applying for a passport renewal, he realized his birthday was different on the birth certificate than the one he'd been celebrating (and put on every official document) his whole life.

He called is aged mother and asked how she messed that up, and she said it was late and she didn't know what date it was. Thanks, mom.

But we celebrated both days the rest of his life.

Here's my granddaughter greeting the birthday girl :D

FK, I still actually have one of those record cases in my closet, and it's got all of Vicki's old 45's in it! I almost took it for her to sift through, but maybe another time.

I have all my own old 45's from the 70s too, and I kept my record sleeves!

It was a fun time. Lots of laughs, 60s music, and reminiscing, of course

Edgy, Vicki usually celebrates her birthday on Feb 28, with mom. Two birthdays = more fun!
