Memo to self: Stop using colorful expressions.
What would you have said?
If you really want simplistic writing, why not invite a bunch of MFY fans here?

Y'know, Case, your use of "talking" is probably at the crux of the matter.
When I got here, other CPF-ers commented on my writing. I said that when you read my posts, consider that much of what I write is tongue-in-cheek. I write like I speak. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time in hospitals and doctors' offices where there was usually a copy of Readers' Digest. I took to the column "toward more picturesque speech" and have tried to do that ever since.
Unfortunately, when the words are in print, the nuances of a smile or wink or body language are lost on the reader. Some of my posts are meant to stimulate conversation. I'm interested in reading what other CPF-ers think about the issue.
But it has gotten to the point that in many of my posts recently, much of the overall meaning of the post has been lost while people instead concentrate on one or two words.
I can live with your remarks about the Nets because I know (think?) they are in jest. That said, I once wrote a lengthy post about why I don't like that other NY pro basketball team, and many of the fans of that team here said they saw how I could feel that way.
I was once very impressed with the level of writing here. But all I can say is great minds think alike. And there aren't as many of us here as I once thought.
In fact, I talk to myself because there are times I may be one of the few here who are intelligent enough to understand me. :)

I didn't want to get into a direct confrontation in any particular thread. But I had to get this off my chest, and this was the best place to do it. Thank you for noticing.

Re: Memo To Self

Well, of course I'm ribbing your Nets' fandom and fans of teams
that take a borough name instead of the city name like it's some
kind of cool territorial statement with black hats and unis to boot.

As for the rest of the stuff; we're all on our own post for post, week
by week, season by season. I'm too low on the popularity totem pole
to even think of anything else to suggest.

Just keep on keepin' on.

There they fucking go again, dwelling on my choice of Tennessee while missing my point. It was about the contrast between an intelligent Obama nominee and they type of person (ok, so a slight exaggeration) who supporters might like.
This shit is getting tiresome.
