Retaliation

The non-bladder story of the last two days has the Royals planning to use the opening series to retaliate for the alleged purpose pitch thrown by Noah Syndergaard in the World Series. Newsday's Marc Carig reported the plans, subsequently denied by Royals officialdom, one of them saying that forcing the Mets to watch a three-minute championship tribute video is enough.

Since they have publically announced what they are going to do, the Met hitters can dig in with confidence. Any pitch coming close to one of them will get the Royals hurler ejected (if the umps have the backing of the commissioner and the stones to do it).

It's a shame these guys had to wait so long for a chance to get even. If only they'd had, like, two or three or fifteen more chances to exact their revenge.
