I just finished reading Marky's memoir, which came out last year. He seems very willing to cast himself as the hero in many of the stories he tells but was probably the "normalest" of the band's members and though he's pretty rough at times on his mates Joey (B.O., drugs, crippling OCD); Dee Dee (voracious appetite for drugs, foolish); Johnny (abusive, unkind) he's also sweet on them.

I'd be interested in reading other Ramones books if anyone can recommend one. There's a lot.

Re: Ramones

I don't see how the Mets can afford not to get involved in this 40th anniversary bidness.

Re: Ramones

No doubt. But the Mets can still appropriate — regional rights and all.

I mean, I don't see the Yankees making a move.

I have Lobotomy - Surviving the Ramones and Ramones - An American Band if you
want to borrow them. We'll see each other at game soon, I'm sure. I'm cracking
up, I opened up R-AAB and was like crap I didn't remember that this was signed
and I read the inscription: "Hey Hey My My, Rock n Roll will never die. Keep on rockin'
in the free world! -- Best Wishes, Stevie Ramone.

Re: Ramones

The dvd End of the Century - The Story of the Ramones is really good too. I'm sure
a bigger library probably has it.

Re: Ramones

I am still prone to remembering Marky Ramone as Mark Bell from the first carnation of the Heartbreakers with Thunders, Hell etal.

Supposedly so. Rumor has it through Richard Hell cutting his hair and clothes circa Blank Generation..
