There's a lot more to the Civil War conflict in the comics... at least in terms of the development of the rift. (Also, the secret identities-becoming-public-knowledge thing, which isn't even feinted to here, was a BIG deal... like, when Peter Parker gives himself up publicly, it's got weight, you know?)

Yeah, the outing doesn't have the weight, largely because secret identities aren't really a big deal in the MCU.
