I'm so far behind this year, not even done weeding and mulching the perimeter
flower beds all around the house. My vegetable garden is a joke, I have some 1 1/2 '
weeds and haven't bought any plants yet. I guess if it didn't feel like March most days
I'd be more motivated but I have to get out there before it finally gets nice.

Broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, onions and potatoes. And big-ass sunflowers.

For the first time in my life, I have a backyard. I'm in the process of building a 7x5 raised bed and planting spinach, Roma tomatoes, basil, snap peas, and oregano. I started the tomatoes on my kitchen counter last month and am getting some nice seedlings.

Also growing a shit-ton of weeds. We've gotten lots of rain here.

I'm behind, but the growing season in NE Ohio is later than it is on the east coast; we're still getting frost warnings here.

working on my lawn mostly. The hops don't really succeed on my property, not enough sun.

Re: What Are You Growing 2016?

I have a beautiful English garden around my pool. However, it has gotten to the point that I can no longer keep up with the proliferating daisies and violets and sat down on the diving board about a month ago and bawled. Fortunately baby daisies are easy to recognize and I have hacked out about a billion of them since then.

Long story short, we decided to skip a vacation this year ($$$$$$) and finally put in the Pollinator Garden in the back yard. Dirt delivered two weeks ago; tarp over it ever since. We have about 50 to 60 pollinator friendly plants to put in back there when we can finally move them (rain, cold, other obligations have gotten in the way)

As for the other poolside perennials, we are having a BIG (20 x 40) raised bed put in the front yard and all my perennial flowers, herbs, and offbeat stuff will go in there!

I am very excited about all this....trying to keep up the enthusiasm through this awful weather and the landscaper's delays (he's an old buddy, no hard feelings).

Meanwhile, what I thought I couldn't do (weed the junk out of my English garden) is all done. :/ Aw well.

Also, I planted some eight ball squash seeds.

besides the scraggly hops, most of what I grow could be classified as 'woodchuck food' or 'deer food'.
