Which Mets will join Terry Collins, his coaches and the trainers in San Diego for the All-Star Game?
I'm thinking: Walker, Cespedes, Syndergaard, Matz, Familia.

Seems like the Cubs have taken a page from the 2015 Royals.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Heyward displaced Yo.

Yo continues to be #3. It's nice that 3 positions, as of now, will not be Cubs:

Re: Terry's Other Team: NL All-Stars 2016

Yo still in position to start in the NL OF, seems pretty safe in third place overall with a few days to go. Neil Walker is the only other Met who shows up anywhere in the balloting.

Gotta believe Familia and Thor join him in SD.

Final update before the big reveal on July 5 ("Fan voting for All-Star starters closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, and the starting lineups will be announced on ESPN on July 5.").

Re: Terry's Other Team: NL All-Stars 2016

Given the current state of the Mets, I wonder if Noah will be named but not play. Walker should make it but Murphy will back him up. Colon should be considered. It could just be Cespedes and Familia from the Mets.

Re: Terry's Other Team: NL All-Stars 2016

The natural instinct for as many as Mets as possible is at odds with the desire to rest everybody. They finish first half at home on a Sunday, they start second half in Philly on Friday. Round trip to San Diego is a long journey for the tipping of caps. Plus I can see Cespedes's hip aggravating somewhere over Missouri (where little good ever happens to Mets) when he gets up to use the lavatory.

You mean, when he gets up to "roll a Cuban?"

I like to think the celebratory nature of a few days doing 'baseball stuff' but not competitively is a better mental break than just taking 4 days off.

It would turn the game into a farce if he got a chance to bat.

Is Colon the oldest pitcher all-star ever? Oldest all-star ever?

No. Satchell Paige was 47, and Rivera was a few months older.

Which means he's going to break four of those records next week.

Well, laundry-interests aside, 2.47 ERA and 10 K/9 over 100-plus innings is nothing at which to sniff.

But yeah, FAWK DAT GYE.

So the NL Champions will end up with 2 active players in the ASG, the same number as the Padres. Meanwhile, the Cubs have 6.

I wonder if Colon, as a relatively last minute all star replacement, is holding his jersey forward facing because the back of his jersey hasn't been customized yet?
