Kansas City Royals Can EMA

You know who sucks this year? The Kansas City Royals, that's who.

Check out last night's Os-KC game when punk Yordano Ventura throws 3 times at Manny machado in one at bat before he flies out then drills him the next time for a bench clearer.

How many "incidents" is that now involving Yodano Ventura since say the beginning of last year?
Got to be at least 4 or 5 at this point.

Notice that a limping Machado paused and did TWO stutter steps going out there and Salvador Perez still didn't manage to intercept him.

Jimmy's Seafood offers Machado free crab cakes for life.

He gets them for being a "Real Man-- Not SAWFT!"

So, does that mean he has to, like, drop thou and show his junk for the crabs every time, or just the first?

I really want to look at this. Are there times when the catcher agrees that the pitcher has something coming to him, and lets the better get his first two blows for free?

Like I said earlier, this is hardly the first time Ventura has precipitated something like this so there's a decent chance his teammates are getting sick of this.
There's been a lot of shit-stirring by a 25 y/o with just 73 ML starts to his name.

btw, last night was the 7th straight loss (sweeps by Cle & Balt) for the now one-game-over-.500 Royals

9 game suspension for Ventura, 4 games for Machado

Starting pitchers are always going to get longer ones simply because 5 games essentially means at worst a delayed start and often nothing at all. Plus he's a recidivist asshole.
I think 4 for Machado is harsh. After getting buzzed three times and then obviously and intentionally plunked who wouldn't go out there, especially against a recidivist asshole.

Maybe the old ways -- when Ray Knight & Tom Niedenfuer simply went to 1st base and returned to the mound after that HBP/brawl was defused -- weren't perfect either, but there's an aspect of 'self-policing' that gets lost when everyone turns to big brother to take care of it all.
There was something uniquely cool about 'you hit me, I hit you back, now let's go back to where we were and finish the game'.

I'll lay you 2-to-1 that Machado appeals the four games and gets two.

It seems pretty clear that, as much the kid ump over-policed the Mets game when he tossed Syndergaard, the home plate ump that night didn't sit on Ventura at all, and left Machado to his own devices.

But hey! Crabcakes!
