Ticketmaster Vouchers - So Now What?

This morning many of us woke up to vouchers for free general admission tickets from Ticketmaster as part of some class action lawsuit.

OK, that's nice. Now what?

Does anyone know what we can purchase with these vouchers?

In the end the $2.25 discount vouchers might wind up being more valuable to many of us....

I have like 20. I don't think I've even used ticketmaster that much? Wonder if it's based on account age.

Is it only going to be concerts (I notice it links to Live Nation)?

Re: Ticketmaster Vouchers - So Now What?

We'll see what happens once they release the list of "eligible" events. It looks like there's fine print that they'll only release so many "free" tickets to these events too, so I have a feeling there's still going to be some people butthurt even once the promotion starts.

We got one pair and one $2.25 credit. Could/should we have gotten more? Sure, maybe, I don't know... considering I have friends who got literally dozens of pairs. But whatever; free tickets! Yay.

Individual Class Members will receive one Ticket Code for each purchase transaction during the Class Period, up to a maximum of 17 Ticket Codes.

I can't imagine I made that many purchases at Ticketmaster from '99-2013 unless the Mets used to use Ticketmaster somehow? I've got more free codes than concerts I've been to in my entire life.

Guess I'm getting screwed, my Ticketmaster email was a now defunct work
email. Wonder if it's worth contacting them. I like free stuff (even it's not really
free but a settlement).

CNN wrote:
Millions of Ticketmaster customers are getting offers for free tickets because of a 13-year-old lawsuit.
The company planned to finish sending out free tickets vouchers "on or around June 18" to U.S. customers who made purchases on its site between October 1999 and February 2013 and paid an "Order Processing Fee" that was never refunded.
The offers stem from a lawsuit first filed in 2003 alleging Ticketmaster was charging "excessive and deceptive" fees.
Though the company denies the claims, it agreed in a settlement last April to issue $45 million worth of cash, discounts and tickets to customers covered by the class action lawsuit.

Ticketmaster said they'll each get "at least one" ticket code in their accounts, which can be redeemed for two general admission tickets to "selected" events at venues owned and operated by Ticketmaster parent company Live Nation Entertainment.
According to an FAQ, Live Nation has "sole discretion" in choosing which events the vouchers can be redeemed for, and they'll be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.
As of Sunday afternoon, Live Nation (LYV) had not identified any eligible events. The company has set up a web page where it says a list will be posted once it is "finalized."

Ticketmaster said on Twitter Sunday that it could not say when the list will be available, "but we expect it to be soon."
The company did not respond to CNNMoney's request for comment and further information.

well if you can recall the password to login, they don't need to actually email you.

I actually scored tickets to take D-Dad to see Steely Dan in Camden next month.

That's a lot more than I thought I'd get out of this deal.

Hey! Lenny! IN CONCERT!

i think it's somewhat annoying that all my purchases were non-concerts but I can't use the vouchers as such. It'd be like a waiter screwing up my meal and comping me a power saw.

263 shows and not one within 300 miles of my house. Fuck you again, Ticketmaster.

More shows coming - they just added a bunch of NYC ones. So I'm assuming this list will continue to grow for a while.

Curious as to what, exactly, a Lenny Dykstra live show would consist of.

I hope so -- they do show the ZZ Top/Gregg Allman tour, in another venue, and that one is coming to Syracuse in September.

If there's general admission seating then you'll probabably have a shot at using the voucher. But act quickly - the good shows sell out of their voucher tickets fast!

Re: Ticketmaster Vouchers - So Now What?

I was able to use two of the $2.25 vouchers tonight to discount my lawn seat for Hall and Oates this coming Saturday, here in town. Still have four more of those to use, also.

I remembered! I can only use two at a time but saved $5 on my Disney on Ice purchase.

(the concerts are a lost cause I imagine)
