The NimmoBomb shocked the shit out of me. I thought he was a little spray hitter. If he can hit them that far...oh baby. If they can keep hitting 3-5 HRs a game I'll get off their case RE:lack of small ball. Because a homer barrage is really fun to watch.

By all accounts, Nimmo has displayed batting practice homer prowess all through the minors. While his power output has gone up only modestly as he climbed the ladder, there remained some hope that it was still a nascent skill within him.

He's certainly big enough to hit HRs and #1 for him certainly had plenty of room to spare. Plus there's the old adage about power being the last skill to come around with young players. Just now watching the early innings of the game that I mostly missed last night, Maddon trying to squeeze an extra inning (the 5th) out of Hammel isn't going to make the top managerial moves of the year highlight reel.
