That's the official distance of that Céspedes homer, seventh longest in the bigs this season (but only five feet short of #2) The Top Ten:

I don't have the parks, but if you watch all the videos, I'd bet half of these were hit in Colorado.

2 of the 10 given up by former Mets. 3 of the top 15.

There's another Cabrera blast that I'm surprised didn't make the list. He hit one in Comerica that hit the pavement next to the Al Kaline statue and bounced into the street. First time that's happened!

That one was tied for 11th at 461.

Tell me about Cabrera. Is the general sense in Detroit that he's clean and sober or that he's still a daily danger to himself and society?

It reminded me of Agee's at Shea.

He is Mr. Tiger. Maybe even Mr. Detroit. Beloved. Seems to have cleaned up whatever problems lingered from that drunk driving issue. Generated a lot of goodwill by volunteering to move back to the field when the team signed Victor Martinez. Generated even more goodwill with the triple crown and back-to-back MVP awards.

Generally accepted here that he's Cooperstown bound and could start posing for a statue beyond left field.

Best trade the team ever made: December 4, 2007: Traded by the Florida Marlins with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Frankie De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo. (Even better than Lolich for Rusty.) And Maybin is back. He and Miller were the club's top two prospects at the time.
