Jacob deGrom, with his sixth Pitcher of the Month title, has tied Pedro Martinez for third place. Only R.A. Dickey and Johan Santana have been honored more times. Wilmer Flores is a double winner, getting the overall Player of the Month title as well as being named the Bench Player of the month. This is his first win in both categories. Bench player points in July: Wilmer Flores 2.38, James Loney 1.77, Alejandro De Aza 1.68, Kelly Johnson 0.43, Michael Conforto 0.17. Relief pitcher points in July: Addison Reed 7.80, Jeurys Familia 6.04, Hansel Robles 6.03, Jerry Blevins 3.51, Seth Lugo 3.41, Erik Goeddel 2.84, Antonio Bastardo 1.84, Logan Verrett 1.22.

I mean, look at the unique set of circumstances required to make that happen: 1. Bench player gets hot 2. Rest of the lineup goes cold 3. Manager refuses to start said bench player

That's the genius of Terry Collins! He managed to find a way to get Wilmer two Schaefer awards in the same month, a first for any position player.
