After a game like Thursday's, how could you not want the Mets to keep it comin', love?

Hellickson for them. Ynoa for us. Don't stop it now.

4. Granderson
5. Duda
6. Rivera (or Kelly Johnson)
7. Conforto
8. d'Arnaud

Re: IGT 9/23/16: PHI@NYM -- The Continuation

Ynoa vs Jeremy Hellickson

And if it seems like we've faced Hellickson a number of times already this year, it's because we have.
4 starts overall: 20 innings, 15 Runs on 27 hits, although those games were split 2-2 despite all the runs allowed.
Most recently Cabrera's 2R and Cesedes's 3R HRs chased him after just 4 innings in late August during an eventual 12-1 NYM win.

Be nice if they got their hitting shoes on prior to 11 PM this time.

Re: IGT 9/23/16: PHI@NYM -- The Continuation

Hellickson pitched a 3 hit shutout against Miami his last time out. Before that, 6 and a third scoreless against Pittsburgh. We were likely rooting for him to pitch well during both games.

Probably will not be a cakewalk tonight, especially with our weakest starter going. Hell, I guess we should not expect anything to be a cakewalk anymore.

If Duda gets straight, he still has enough time to hit his way up to that five hole.

Flip flop him and Johnson, this could be a meaningful lineup against righties in the post-season, still leaving Loney and Bruce as left-handed benchies.

I salute you Terry. Make this work, somehow.

So with 6 walk-off HRs in each of '62 & '63, that means that over 13% of their total wins in those seasons (91) came via game-winning HRs. Nearly one win of every eight.
That's stunning!

The Phils were required to take Hellickson out here because otherwise this game was in danger of running up against the curfew rules.

Whatever speed-up rules they put in -- and I think they're going to visit that this winter during CBA talks -- they've got to run film of how he pitched tonight and make everything he did illegal from here on out.

Re: IGT 9/23/16: PHI@NYM -- The Continuation

Howie with some great Vin Scully stuff. Have I shared this here?

Let's turn over the whole lineup. De Aza, Nimmo, Ceccchini, get out there.

Wil Myers with a three-run homer. 3-0 Padres in the bottom of the first. Keep it up, guys.

Wearing the old school mustard and brown unis the Padres are.
SF has yet to record an out in bottom 1st.

Nice to not have it be a nail biter, for once. Robles cruising through those last innings like a champ.

MLB.tv with the live look in, if you get that channel.

Robles is going to get more beer from me than he expects. I hope he can handle it.

Confort Food.

I think it would just be nice if this could get some ABs on his plate, no?

I mean, it just might be a good idea to give the slumping lefty on the upswing of his career those starts over the slumping lefty who, even if he breaks free from these doldrums, is poopier defensively, worse with plate discipline, and isn't going to be getting much better long - term/likely won't be here next year.

Oh, I think that's definitely the way things are trending.

Who knows, by the start of the post-season, Conforto and Laggy could be sorta platooning again, just like they sorta were at the season's start.
