Five years old

Imagine being five years old again for one week. What would you try to remember to remember?

I would try to remember what my older brother and sister looked like ( I have no recollection of them being around ever in my young life)
I would enjoy the company of my very entertaining aunts and uncles more
I would talk to my grandma, my only grandparent in my lifetime and I was afraid of her German accent and her walker
I would figure out what made Scot M like me and hang onto that until I met my spouse
I would pay more attention to my dog and kitty
I would enjoy good vision
I would watch the Piper planes flying over 100 times a day and realize that it wouldn't last forever
I would stop worrying that my 30 year old parents were terminal
I would enjoy the Wonderful World of Color on Sunday nights instead of wondering if I was going to get burglarized

I would have the dozens the relatives who got together once a month for a "Cousins Club" meeting to document our family tree.
We recently tried to piece one together and were very unsuccessful at filling in major gaps because of the Holocaust. I was 5 years old in 1948.

I'd tell my dad to wager whatever he could on the Mets to win the NL East.

Re: Five years old

It would be 1963 so I would have my mom drive me (in my decked out stroller) to the nearest candy store and somehow coax her into buying an entire box of Topps baseball cards. I wouldn't be able to keep it closed, but I would pull all the future $$ cards and put all the cards in....did they have plastic holders then?..put em in something, take good care of em.

I didn't start following baseball until I was around 9 yrs old. I didn't buy baseball cards until I was around 10. So that would change my entire life!
Ha.

Also, I wouldn't be so desperately pathetic when I begged my folks to get me a Tiger Tank for Christmas.

I'm sure he give a lot of consideration to a warning from a five-year-old.

I would try to remember the reason my Mom gave me in 1967 why she wouldn't
invest that $1,000 tax refund in Boeing like I suggested.

I would take that Mr. Machine toy, and instead of breaking it on Christmas morning, I would put it in a safe place and sell it on eBay in 2016. And I'd give my parents a big hug.

I'd try to remember how my grandmother's cooking tasted, and perhaps how she cooked.
