According to multiple sources, Terry Collins is considering playing out the last season of his contract in 2017 and hanging 'em up.
Him and Alderson being where they are in their respective careers, it might be an indicator of them going all-in next season, though it's certainly debatable what all-in might look like. A year to line up a successor is certainly an interesting situation as well. A good chance to be thoughtful.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter. If he wants to win it for the ghost of Maury Amsterdam, that's fine by me.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I can't help but think this is some pretty good maneuvering by Terry Collins. In fact, it might be the smartest move he's made this year.

This made me laugh out loud. Other Via riders immediately started texting about the weird guy in their shared cab.

I definitely think there's an element of beating the "lame duck" story line to the punch. IT'S A DISTRACTION!

They should just hire Tim Tebow to be the playing bench coach, and he'll be the heir apparent to Terry's job as manager. He'd be a player/manager/healer.

Well, with all the injuries this season, having a healer ofn the bench might be an asset.

This is the reason I'm not exactly crying over the move. It's a no-lose for him.
