Going to the Game in 2017

Like many of you, got an email today about some pre-sale ticket thing that
starts tomorrow at 10 am. Guess I'll try and get an Opening Day and Uncle
Bartolo Number Retirement Day ticket? Lazy Q, what date is that again?

So was this just a come on to get people to go look at ticket plans?
I couldn't find any single-game links on the page I was sent to.

it's the same page. mets.com/presale

[url]http://m.mets.mlb.com/nym/tickets/info/sgt-presale?partnerId=ed-10985486-943476773

should be lots of different links there. each one with a different easily guessable password. (I imagine anyway. Maybe the partners one has something less obvious, like FredWilponIsTheBest)

edit: guessed the Social Media one. It's Cabrera.

Re: Going to the Game in 2017

I caved on the "no-fee" online offer this week and went in for the Tuesday Night Plan (no postseason benefits!).

Seems like they have either a) sold a lot more tickets by now than they had when I acquired the 2016 Tuesdays last March; b) made shittier tickets available for this offer, or both, but we have generally been moved up a few rows from our customary and very modest 500-Promenade-behind-the-plate seats, in some cases, moving to Promenade-3rd-base-line.

What's the deal? Are the Mets really selling more tickets this year?

two consecutive years in the postseason? I'd be they're selling more tickets, yes.

Also I'd bet they're breaking them up into smaller blocks of availability to different offers expecting to be able to sell the others in different random offers or just on the fly.

Fboy and I are most likely to take our annual sojourn during one of these three summer weekday matinees, the only ones on the schedule during the vacation weeks this year.

Thurs July 20 12:10 vs StL
Wed Aug 9 12:10 vs Tex
Thurs Aug 24 12:10 vs D-Backs

One other weird thing, they "cut me off" at 10 pairs of tickets in that offer, even though I intended to buy 11 (one for each home Tuesday). Not a big deal I suppose as we can pick up a pair for the final Tuesday home game (aka "clinch Nite" Sept. 26 vs. Braves).

btw we should do a cpf meetup game this season, or maybe a preseason drinking practice or something this year.

Absolutely. I know it's not your favorite spot but Fboy and I do like the upper deck promenade seats, as long as they're on the infield. He had trouble following the game from the left field seats we had when we met up with you and D-Dad two years ago.

Better seats in lower rows are also fine, as long as they're on the infield, I suppose.

My only qualm is that if it's a hot day we could fry in the Promenade.

But once we have a date, let's see what's available on StubHub. We could luck out and get something somewhat lower at a good price.

We always retreat high enough up into those seats to be in the shade. Fboy's got the same complexion as his mother. Fgirl and I could sit out in the sun all day and we'd be fine.

I see the Mets have lifted some of the 'hold' they had on Opening
Day tickets. Trying to decide if I should just get one of those $105
tickets or hold out some more...

$345.00 Hyundai Club (includes food buffet, soda and water)
$271.00 Metropolitan Silver
$250.00 Metropolitan Bronze
$235.00 Metropolitan Box
$180.00 Field Silver
$170.00 Field Box
$105.00 Field Reserved

The wife and I will be in NYC June 12th-16th so we will be attending the 06/15/17 game vs. the Washington Nationals at Citi Field.

I also picked up a ticket to sit with the 7 Line Army in Seattle on 07/29/17 when the Mariners host the Mets.

Planning on (but haven't bought tickets for) a couple of games when the Mets visit Milwaukee and Chicago this year as well.

I will be there Tuesday up in the Prom behind home plate

by the way this is just one of those years so far: Weather looks crappier for our home games than away games almost every day of the season so far. Chance of rain this Friday-Sat; cooler next week than this.

MFYs got every good weather day in NYC for a home game this entire year so far.

We texted but did not meet. sniff.

Unbelieveably stress-free game, almost nothing to say. I mean, Wheeler looked as good as I can remember.

Giants are a lot like the Mets, in my expereience. When they're going bad there's nothing worse in the world than them. And unless they get a real left fielder they're going to continue to suck.

Conforto's HR off the bat looked "too high" but carried.

TJ made a great play there in the 9th and of course smacked the shit out of the ball. He's the guy we play at 3rd, most nights, when Doodoo comes back, at least while he stays hot. I could see that ball off the bag play ruining the night for Familia, so it was big.

Plenty of too aggressive bullpenning by Terry. I thought if we got 1 more run in the 8th he's have gone to Montero, but maybe he thought he'd be the best bet to back up the unknown today.

Queens Brewery session IPA is not real flavorful.

Cold but not frigid. Had a hat and hood, but didn't need gloves and a blanket till the 8th.

Mama's of Corona promenade stand not open. Is that usual?

Visited the Coke platform seeing if Ochoseis returned to his seat. First time there since they switched sodapop brands

Oh, Klassik Rawk pregame concert with Long Island's own WONDROUS STORYS. They actually sounded good for a band playing in a parking lot

Damn, I'm going to be in Buffalo that morning, too, to run a half marathon. If that had been a 1 PM start I could have maybe darted down to catch the game, but, alas, a Sunday night game wouldn't get me back in time to see Fgirl march with the Girl Scouts in the local Memorial Day parade.

Ahh too bad. This is a case where the night game helps me. I can make the drive out early Sunday, then drive back Monday. For a day game I'd either have to go two nights or get up really early or get home really late.

A few blocks from the stadium (same side of the river, opposite Heinz Field) is a nice row of waterfront bars and restaurants that probably draw significant biz from pre-gamers. IMO, the sandwich with french fries on it, like the Philly cheesesteak, is more of a regional curiousity than something that's actually good to eat.

There's a cool science museum, also on that side of the river near Heinz.

Wife's leaving me tomorrow so I figure instead of sitting around watching
the Jets alone inside I'd go watch the Mets alone outside for my last game
of 2017. deGrom!!

Flying in solo again on Sun... good pitching matchup and I need my magnet!

I didn't make it to a Mets game this season. I know they'll be at Fenway next year, but I have to make sure I get to Flushing in 2018 as well.

Me neither. First year since 2003 that I won't have attended at least one Mets game. First year since 2004 that I haven't attended at least one Mets home game.

The season went into the toilet so early this year. The dismal signs began in April and never really let up.

And oddly, I went to four games this season, which feels like more than I've gone to in years.

Re: Going to the Game in 2017

I just made it to one, but this was parenthood (And bridge) related more than anything else.

Briefly toyed with going Sunday but I got roughly a billion things to do at home that I should really do.

Got Ceetarette to that one though (even if not Ceetarette2) so she's been to one every full season.

Re: Going to the Game in 2017

We should have a full-blown CPF game in 2018. Tail-gating, matching shirts and
posters from all over the country/world. And an octagon for fighting!

Yeah, an octagon. For fighting.

I'd be down for this. Short Center could hang with Lunchpail.

Yea, but I like going to 1 or 2 Mets games a year no matter how bad they are. It seems like I never had a chance to get the city when the Mets were in town. Oh well...

Went to one, in April, with the kid. Off on Tuesday. May go to another?

DEFINITELY up for a CPF game next year.
