Frankie and Johnny - Orange Basketball 2017

Syracuse kicked off their season with an easy 85-53 win over Colgate. The Orange were led by their two point guards Frank Howard and John Gillon, who Boeheim said played "exceptional". Crazy. He must be getting old. Kind of a crazy year for the Orange. Their rotation will feature 6 new faces. Freshmen Taurean Thompson, Tyus Battle and Matthew Moyer. And transfers Paschal Chukwu, Andrew White and the aforementioned Gillon. I think Lydon will have a great year. Andrew White is a dangerous scorer, and Battle is said to be a stud, likely one and done. But I'm most curious about Chukwu. 7'2" center who they say is a shot-blocking machine. People have compared him to that Hasheem something guy that used to play for UConn. Deep and dangerous, this team can be good depending on if they gel and how Lydon adjusts to being the top dog. Hope he is up to it.

Deepest team they've had in a while. I can't wait to see how they all come together. Will be tough to top last year, but I've got a good feeling about this one.

After going all in on Quade Green for 2017, the Orange find themselves maybe without a backcourt for next season. Fuck Kentucky, and fuck John Calipari.

I can't believe Syracuse got blown out by Pitt 77-61 last week. Wait, what's that? You mean that wasn't a basketball score? Oh ... never mind.

No clue what they are doing on offense. It amazes me that after all the time Boeheim spends with Mike Krziewyski that none of the offensive game plan has rubbed off on him.

They've got a lot of new parts to try and fit together and it's too bad they had to face a couple of tough opponents early in the season. Wisconsin is exactly the type of outside shooting / interior passing team that can kill a zone D. Tons of talent here, so I'm assuming Boeheim can get it together at some point. I'd welcome a return to the defensive minded teams who forced steals and ran up and down the court at will. Gotta whip that zone into shape soon.

uhhhhhhh I try to stay positive but this team isn't showing any sign of being able to anything right, on either end of the floor right now.

Yeah, this might be the low point of Syracuse basketball since I can remember. Wow, they suck.
