7-0 in the third.

It's an IGT from the future!

(Who's up 7-0? Good guys or bad guys?)

I predict that the Mets will be leading 7-0.

its now 7-1 Mets, i should point out that this is listed as a split squad for them but not for us, who knows the quality of the hitters they sent here as compared to their other game.

Iriki is pitching for the Mets and has given up only one hit so far.

The only Mets regulars playing are V. Diaz and A. Hernandez.(From E. Coleman earlier in the day) He was moaning about the 2+ hour bus ride.

Hey, rookie! Guess what? When you're 1-for-18 in your major league career, you do whatever your manager damn well wants you to do. If he wants you to take a two hour bus ride to Winter Haven, you offer to ride shotgun. If he wants you to polish Julio Franco's walker, you ask Mr. Franco what his favorite kind of silver polish is. If he wants double meat on his sandwich, you get him double meat.

Jeez. I've been 30 only a few hours and I'm already a grouchy old man.

Neither of them is exactly a starter anyway...

I'm more interested in the Cleveland lineup, in knowing who exactly Iriki has been one-hitting.

You know what makes one feel younger: Rock & Roll!!! I bet if you founda band you really liked and - say, I don't know - ranked their ten best songs, you'd feel a whole lot less grouchy.

83, here was the Cleveland starting lineup:
CF-Sizemore
LF-Michaels
SS-Peralta
1B-Hafner
3B-Boone
DH-Hollandsworth
C-Shoppach
RF-Snyder
2B-Phillips

Final score 7-1 Mets.

Edit: And here was the Mets:
Hernandez SS
Keppinger 2B
Diaz DH
Self 1B
Woodward 3B
Milledge LF
Martinez C
Ramirez RF
Redman CF

Only home run by Sandy Martinez.
The Mets scored all their runs off Byrd. in 1 2/3 IP. Don't know how other than the homer.

Hernandez played short and went 2-3 with 2 runs and a ribbie.
Keppinger started at second, and went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs & a RBI.
Self, starting at first, hit a double as well.

Victor "My Ass Hurts" Diaz went 1-4.

Milledge went 0-3 with a walk, a SB, a CS & 2 ribbies--I'm assuming he had 2 sac flys.

Iriki went 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, 3 walks and 1 run, striking out 2. Fortunado went 2 innings, allowing 2 hits and K'ing 1. Bell finished the game out, walking 1 in a scoreless inning of work.

I actually went to the game in Winter Haven. I can see why the regulars would want to stay home...that stadium is a hole. The clubhouse is barely removed from the fans, and the visitors have to walk a good ways down a little corridor to get to the field.

It was a beautiful day though, and great to see the Mets play some live baseball.
