Early voting has 20.5-19.5 lead for Talking Heads. My guess is that this vote is suppressed as some people don't know Velvet Underground catalog.

Also, I forgot to vote on this one. Not that I'm going to make much of a difference in the score.

Yeah, I think you're right. A damn shame--this is a great match-up!

I'm far short of being an expert on The Velvet Underground but I have been listening to all of these songs for more than a week now.

See, this is the great byproduct of the BLC. I was led on to VU by older brothers and sisters. I wore a borrowed VU T-shirt before I knew more than one or two of their songs. I told the chicks at the party that they "sound more or less like Duran Duran." But my guys and I were already piecing together the catalog and we had gone to see Lou together at some lousy auditorium. Then --- about the time I graduated from high school, I think --- their entire catalog was re-released. It was great to have the whole thing, but somehow I preferred the mix tapes we were able to make with what we could find of the origiinal releases. Hisses and pops sound right on VU songs. I just listened to Jonathan Richman's goofy song "Velvet Underground" (from I, Jonathan) yesterday. Download it now!

I'm trying to tally this one up too, but there's so many ties it's near freaking impossible!

Crap! If I had waited I could've saved myself some trouble.

Wow, but that's close. I overestimated the ability of powerhouses Femme Fatale & Pale Blue Eyes to neutralize Psycho Killer & Burning Down the House. Venus In Furs looks like a mistake as well--perhaps Heroin or Jesus would have performed better there . . . A fine contest, sharpie!

Definitely go with "Heroin" that's a great song.

Yeah, it did very poorly in the Queen battle, though, so I scrapped it. Maybe a bad idea.

I think lineups and matchups play a big part. "Let's Go Crazy" -- my all time favorite Prince song and one I thought would do well -- got only three votes against Petty. This suprised me, but lucky I didn't ditch it because it's been a huge votegetter in the other two challenges.

Heroin - good.

On the TH side, Naive Melody got hammered against tough competition and Thank You for Sending Me an Angel did very poorly against All Tomorrow's Parties. Stay Up Late, Cities, Don't Worry About the Government all will get their due in later contests.
