This is the way Dickshot wants it so Dickshot's band gets the challenge.

1. Lets Go Crazy
2. 1999
3. Raspberry Beret
4. Little Red Corvette
5. Kiss
6. When Doves Cry
7. Purple Rain
8. Sign O' the Times
9. Darling Nikki
10. Delirious

This ain't right. We agree on the rules (except Dickshot) and then Willets ignores them.

I'm not voting in this one. Prince is cheating.

(on edit): Actually, I will vote, once Dickshot is up. 10-0 for Queen.

What's unbelievable? I told you on Friday you'd be challenged. This is what you wanted.

Relaxing the rules to allow his band to be attacked on such a front, while everyone else is remains restrained from launching such attacks is not, I imagine, what he wanted.

Willets Point
Mar 13 2006 02:51 PM

Well no one else is restrained. We can all attack his bands.

So you break my balls for hours last week, tell me to shut up, throw up an obnoxious post dismissing my concerns as "picayune" and "endless" and now this? Is this an intentional dick move designed to knock me down a peg? Or am I misunderstanding it?

Willets Point
Mar 13 2006 02:55 PM

This is a challenge. Do you accept it?

Where does one order those balls of steel?

Johnny Dickshot

I see, intentional dick move.

Go fuck yourself.

This entire BLC has gotten too complicated for me to keep track of what the rules actually are.

Personally, I think that Prince is committing "suicide" by challenging Queen. Of course, others may think otherwise, but I think JD and his band have little to fear from this match up.

If Prince deposes Queen, that would put King in an awkward position, anyhow.

It's good to be the King.

This is all fucked up, I have no idea if you guys really are that pissed with each other or what's going on.

Yeah, me too Irish.

But it's all good, cause I now have "21st Century Schitzoid Man" in my head.

Here's the opening I've been waiting for -

I call this contest on a account of non-get-alongability!

I therefore decreee that 'The Top Ten Rock and Roll Bands Of All Time' are as follows (in order of All-Timeness):

1. Rolling Stones
2. The Beatles
3. Led Zeppelin
4. U2
5. The Who
6. The Police
7. Queen
8. The Doors
9. The Grateful Dead
10. The Beach Boys

Honorable mentions to: The Kinks, The Ramones, The Allman Brothers and Lynrd Skynrd.

We are now done here, move along.

Ah, we get along, Soupcan. Willets is busting Johnny's chops, that's all.

Your list is just plain wrong but that's ok too.

Led Zeppelin should challenge up if you feel so strongly ('cause I sure don't think they get the 3-spot).

Well I guess this got us nowhere other than making me look like a dick. I was hoping that if we challenged Johnny he might change his mind about the rules while leaving the window open that Johnny's way might actually work if we gave it a try. Instead I just opened another can of angry worms.

I rescind the challenge. I still like the Battle Royale pun though.

Johnny Dickshot

I wouldn't even have known -- or cared -- that the challenge was "breaking the rules" had it not been pointed out first. But when it was of course I was pissed: I thought the questions I had to begin with were treated with total disrespect, and breaking off a new thread only to label it "picayune" was a complete misuse of moderation. Now to find this joke on top of all that ... of course it made you look like a dick -- you were being a dick, after all.

As I tried to make clear a million times already, I couldn't care less about what is in it, or not in it, for me when I asked about the rules. I was just advocating a set of rules I thought was best and got treated like shit.

I'm sorry you feel this way. "Endless Picayune" was meant as a joke that we seem to spend more time debating rules and their nuances than actually just having fun with the contest and it was not meant to single out your concerns so sorry you felt targeted. If you review the thread you will note that I never tell you to shut up nor do I treat your concerns disrespectfully nor use offensive language in your direction. In fact between the two of us I only see the mildly offensive term "bite me" which you used to me presumably as a jest which is how I took it. I did make a quip that you had a problem with logic but then followed a well-considered response to your points in the wiseass comment/serious issues manner that is typical of my posts. You obviously did not recognize this as such and that is also my fault so again I apologize. Finally, this challenge is not a joke. I'd really like to have a Battle Royale but would have to wait until Queen is defeated by Guns & Roses if ever. SInce you presented evidence that in actual ladder competions it is possible to challenge above someone who beat you, I thought we'd give it a try. I still don't think it would work and hoped that the experiment would prove my point but thought the experiment worth trying and as I said might instead prove you right.

That's fine, no biggie, and I'm sorry for my part in this. But from where I sat it was very easy to interpret this little incident as:

1) "Jesus Feckin' Christ can we go a day without the rules being challenged."

IOW, Don't deign to bother me with your questions, even once.

In fairness you weren't the only one who left the impression that debate on this topic was something that wasn't supposed to happen.

2) "Endless Picayune" thread

IOW, If you do ask questions, I'll use my special powers to slant the debate from the start.

3) "Well there are the rules of logic which you don't seem to comprehend."

IOW, you don't get it. The "bite me" response actually wasn't in fun, rather it was a restrained way of saying "FU, this is getting on my nerves."

4)Finally I thought when I asked Is this an intentional dick move designed to knock me down a peg? Or am I misunderstanding it? that it was clear I found this a very distasteful passive/aggressive gambit, and that things were on the verge of going nuclear if they kept up this way, and obviously, they did.

I agree Queen v. Prince is a consumation devoutly wish'd, and would prefer the rules we adopted allowed it too.

Sorry it came to this.... no hard feelings.
