Thanks, Mole.
No real surprises.
The only two that jumped off the page at me were the Republican contributions of both Howard Cosell and Mohummad Ali.

Whoda' thunk it?

Well they're donations to individual candidates so Ali (the greatest of all time, lol) may like NORTHUP, ANNE M. (R) and HIPP, VAN DARREL JR (R) for his district but no neccessarily support nationwide GOP platforms.

Tom Seaver has one political contribution on record. George Bush for President. That's the elder George Bush. In 1980.

Most of those amounts (except for owners and such) are so low as to be mostly meaningless.
Jerome Bettis giving $1,000 - 100% of it in the Republican column - could mean that he recently donated something to Lynn Swann's upcoming run and may or may not say anything about his politics.

Cosell for instance was a long-time, self-proclaimed 'Bobby Kennedy Liberal' who claimed that there were many who tried to talk him into running for NYS Senator on the Democratic line - so who knows what his contribution to Republican causes was all about.

on edit: Duh, I didn't realize you could see details on each person/contribution

Cosell supported Arlen Specter for Senate in 1985 and 1991. Like I said before it basically means he just likes that candidate.

Bettis supported W's reelection campaign. No surprise that a millionaire athlete supports the guy who helps millionaires.

Surprisingly, none of Isiah Thomas' money went to Howard Dean.

The other one who surprised me was Charles Barkley. I thought he was a Republican.
