The Falling Market for Encarnacion

Rumblings at the Winter Meetings are that no one is willing to pony up for Encarnacion. Do you consider making a Cespedes 2015 offer (3 years + opt out)? Encarnacion can only really play first, so you'd have to trade Duda. And to clear salary you'd probably have to lose Granderson and Bruce, and probably have to play Lagares/Nimmo at CF.

The timing might work for the Mets. If Edwin bolts after 1 year, it might open the door for Dominic Smith.

A long shot. And you're trading away 90 possible HR's just to fit Encarnacion, but it's something to consider.

No interest. I'd rather just keep Duda, maybe with a righty-platoon partner

Really? Zero interest?

Imagine he could be had for 3 years, $60 million with an opt-out after 1.

If you trade Duda and Bruce, the money is a wash. 42 HR's and his OPS is in the high 800's.
