Uh, no, they're saying "Boo-urns, Boo-urns"

Our long period of Metlessness has ended, as Marc Carig has announced a minor league deal between the team and burly former Texas Rangers (and San Diego Padres) sidewinding righthanded Cory Burns.

Burns has had modest success but lousy peripherals in his brief big league career. He hasn't appeared in the show since 2014 and spent last year in the independent minors with the Atlantic League's Lancaster Barnstormers.

He definitely will give Lucas Duda a run for his money in the Met Most Like a Giant Baby category.

Sixty strikeouts and only eight walks in 54 innings with Lancaster. Based on his MLB sample, those eight walks would have been about nine innings worth, so good on him.

I'm guessing he opens with Bingo, but we'll see.

The other peripherals may be iffy, but you can't deny that his WWF is reasonably strong.
