Hubby, son in law, both grandkids, and I all had a nasty stomach bug over the past two weeks so a lot of Christmas preparation was on hold. Still wrapping this morning, decorated tree and house yesterday. Hoping to bake tomorrow (Christmas Day, lol) Happy holidays to all of you!

We always have a live tree, as in a tree with root ball intact that we plant after Christmas. Suckers are heavy as hell, but worth it in the long run. One of my first trees is taller than my house now.

So, did any of you get or give Mets stuff? What was it? BTW, we were changing stations and saw the Yule Log. My wife said "That has more action than the Jets offense". (running finger under collar) Tough crowd. Tough crowd. Later

They were Hanuka-mas gifts from MMYF and the kids. They included the usual sweaters, scarf, a trunk organizer for my car, and a power flashlight. MMYF keeps refusing to hear my annual pleas to not get me ANYTHING sports related. So she got me a baseball cap with a big garish red Cincinnati All Star Game logo. Thank goodness she failed to notice it was a youth size. So it sat on my head like a beanie and will have to be returned. She doesn't understand that even though I'm a sports fan if its not the team you root for, don't get it. And because she is a jinx to all my teams (I've described this before), don't get those either. At least it has never been MFY gear. Later

Mr cooby saw it and couldn't resist metfairy :D No Mets stuff at our house but, we got our son a couple of Cleveland Indians Championship shirts and my husband got a fabulous 1979 Pirates book!

I got some Mets slippers. I don't really wear slippers but maybe I'll start. Gave out two The7Line Home Run apple hats.

Update. We received a package today from our friends who used to live next to us but now live in Georgia. (They grew up in Baltimore and are O's fans) They sent a note saying they saw my gift in an antique store and thought I would like it. It was a painted metal model of Shea Stadium, dated 1964. It has a "Toyota" plaque on it and must have been part of a promotional give-away. Its about 6 inches in diameter. They wre right. I love it. Later
