I went with the deGrom cover too, but it wasn't a clear decision. I like them both nearly the same.

Me too. In the end I went with the guy who doesn't beat his wife. 5-0 so far. Would expect it to be closer.

Your post made me curious to see how the other two papers covered deGrom's shutout on the back page. Both gave the main focus to the Yankees' win, which is why neither cover was in the Derby. In smaller sub-headlines, the News had "1-deFUL!" and the Post had "ONE FOR deBOOKS!"

Another Newsday cover advances to the third round; this is the fourth to do so and Newsday has won four of the last six matchups. Nine of the "Sweet Sixteen" positions have been secured: Four for the Daily News, four for Newsday, and one for the New York Post.
