Those are good. I'd like the first one to be a card even I would get excited about, not an easy task. I'm thinking Gsellman should be one. But that's just me. I'm trying to find out which prospects the fans find most exciting and have high hopes for. Nimmo would win over because Rosario hasn't even been up yet. Same with Dom Smith. Is Rosario slated to be on the 25 man at seasons start? That could tip the scales in his direction. According to MLB these are our top prospects: Amed Rosario. SS. Dominic Smith. 1B. Gavin Cecchini. SS. Justin Dunn. RHP. Brandon Nimmo. OF. Desmond Lindsay. OF. Wuilmer Becerra. OF. Thomas Szapucki. LHP. So besides Gsellman, which players who are not prospects qualify? I made a card back for Grandy and using info from WiKi and it occurred to me that the info isn't accurate. Of course I didn't realize this until I was done making it. Is this info up to date on the RB card or did one of em pass over the other in '16? Can anyone please give me confirmation that Rod Kanehl hit the first grand slam in Mets history as a pinch hitter on July 2nd 1962? I can't believe the Mets website only lists "team firsts" that occurred at Shea. And the media guides I have don't get that specific. I don't see anything for it at the UMDB. I'm trying to put together the details behind this photo. I don't think there is a definitive way to tell when it was taken but that's Cardinal catcher Carl Sawatski batting and Craig pitching. The first time they matched up that July 2nd it turned out to be a hell of a game culminating with the Kanehl granny. Those sleeves Roger's wearing doesn't exactly scream JULY. They also faced off on August 18th. So it has to be one of those games unless it was taken in 1963, which I haven't looked into yet. Oh, top performances. Thank you. I also looked at Rod's Wiki page right before I popped back here and it had the info there. I haven't checked '63 yet but I hope that pic was from the July 6th (I wrote 2nd last post, duh) 1962 game because that was a dilly. Working on a Cannizzaro colorization. A little help please? Are the rails/dugout color (I have them as the same color) correct for 1964? And does anyone know if the seats were the same color as the rails? I recall them being yellow but looking through color shots of Shea I see some where they look to be the more cream colored. I'm thinking maybe the rails/dugout should be more towards the creamy side. What say you!? I wanted to make a 1972 Boyhood Pictures Of The Stars card from this but I didn't note who the player was and now I can't remember that either. Does anyone know who this is? If I saved it odds are very good it's a Met. But it might not be.

I thought this Rosario was supposed to be a Future Star. Well, nothing's guaranteed, but yeah. He averaged out to be around the 5th best prospect in all of baseball this winter according to those who rate such stuff. Would anyone have a real big and good quality copy of this photo of Tom's imperfect game? I'd like to colorize it but at this size it's not worth the effort. ( I did find a slightly bigger version in my Mets collection of images, but not by much. I need one at least 800 pixels/vertical.)

I like it, but I do wish they used a more legible autograph. I have seen some better Rusty auto's. This one doesn't say Rusty, but it's very clear. From what I can see that's rare for Rusty. With Rusty Staub, it was about the color orange. It really wasn't about citrus fruit. If the Mets had actually put an orange on the memorial patch it would have been rightly seen as frivolous.

I think that's why I kept making it smaller, and then lost it altogether. How about one where the city skyline is orange, Rusty's name in black above it....? I'll whip one up and take a look. The nickname Le Grande Orange turns the adjective into a noun. This more or less means "The Big Orange One" of course, but part of it's charm and whimsy was that it implicitly suggests, "The Big Fuckin' Citrus Fruit."
