Joining Jenrry Mejia and possibly Jeurys Familia on the Not Allowed to Play List this season will be Mets minor leaguer Gary Cornish, a 2016 draft pick who threw 25 innings of relief for Brooklyn this season, effective to the tune of a 2.16 ERA. Gary draws a 50-game suspension after testing positive for amphetamines.

Does adderall count as an amphetamine? I don't think too many people use amphetamines recreationally anymore like Johnny Cash or anything, but kids today do love thier adderall.

it does. and last I heard, the percentage of baseball players on it is twice that of the normal population.

Baseball allows for therapeutic exceptions on adderall, I think. Am I wrong?

yes, sorry that's what I meant. It's an amphetamine, and more than twice the expected average applied and got exemption.

Yes, it seems that MLB players apparently suffer from ADHD (or similar afflictions) at rates far above our already over-medicated population as a whole and therefore "require" special exemptions for these otherwise banned drugs.
