Start a Thread

Don’t wait for news. MAKE news. Yeah, it’s a slow offseason. But you’re not slow. Come up with a topic and make a thread, for Pete’s sake. Here are some examples.

[list]Thread Title: Tim Teufel Revisited
Initial Post: Tim Teufel was a below average fielder. He was a hard-nosed and game guy, but probably on his best day, he didn’t reach average. He was particularly bad on the double play. So why was he our infield coach?

Thread Title: Collins Systems, Inc.
Initial Post: If Terry Collins wasn’t in baseball, he’d be selling computer systems. Pretty big contracts to mid-size companies. No bullshit.

Thread Title: Nature vs. Nurture
Initial Post: Many Met legends—Keith Hernandez, John Olerud, John Maine, Johnny Monell—were raised by minor league vet dads who came within spitting distance of the bigs without quite getting there. Is it perhaps better to be the son of such a man—with talent and a drive born of tantalizing frustration—or to be the son of a big leaguer, inheriting stronger genes, but perhaps given too soft a life to feed your motivation?[/list:u]
Start a thread of your own! Here's some motivation. Whoever starts the baseball thread this week that gets the most traction—a thread that isn't about breaking news or isn't a parking space for developing situations throughout the season—will get a VALUABLE PRIZE to be determined.

No Russians.

Re: Start a Thread

Personally I prefer one big thread of 'hey, look at this' stuff that doens't really need it's own discussion, but they rarely seem tostick around.

I feel like Terry Collins would have been an armed services guy.

Re: Start a Thread

On Mets Hot Stove a few weeks ago, they mentioned that Terry Collins knew his wife since he was ten but didn't marry her until he was 63.

Anyone know anything about that?

Oops, sorry.

Here it is in Russian:

На Метс горячей печи несколько недель назад, они отметили, что Терри Коллинз знал, что его жена, так как ему было десять лет, но не женился на ней, пока он не был 63.

Кто-нибудь знает что-нибудь об этом?

Hey!
Are you saying there's something wrong with that?
