I'd almost forgotten how competent a hitter Plawecki was in the minors. I'm hoping for 3 hits today that get him started on a ferocious tear that continues through the season and makes decisions difficult for everyone all year. Springtime is for optimism.

With an opposite field hit against a lefty, Conforto excites everyone in the way that only the first day of spring can prompt such excitement. Mets go up 1-nil after a Lagares walk, the amazing Conforto single, and a Wilmer fielder's choice. Travis also got a base knock. I guess start printing WS tickets.

Also hit two homers, but both of the them solo, with a .111 OBP out of the top two spots in the order of batting. But the pitching was a revelation. They went with three starters who are approximately sixth, tenth, and 21st on the depth chart and the scoringest team in the American League couldn't touch 'em.

Supposedly OK. Just a contusion. X-rays are negative.
