The Edge of Seventeen: P.J. Conlon

Edgy MD

From the mean street of Falls Road in Belfast, I'm bringing the best ERA in all of MLB-affiliated baseball. Yes, you heard that right. And while not a lot of guys get invited to spring training with only a half season above low-A ball, but I'm not a lot of guys. I'm the ruler of the mound, like Caesar Augustus. The P. stands for pitching and J. is for justice!

Anyhow, that sounds a lot better than it reads when delivered with what's left of my Belfast accent. You may think I'm not ready for the bigs yet, but I sure ain't living with Edgy forever. I'll see you soon.

How soon? Only foreseeing fans can tell.

Still one or two years away. He'll split the season between high A and AA.
But his female friend looks like she's major league ready.

Hard to see him getting much past AA in 2017, but he sounds like
someone to watch and be excited about.

Gets to work on his Binghamton accent.

Good half-season in the minors, traded to Arizona in July, where he's fated to become the Irish Nelson Figueroa (0-1, 7.47 in 3 games in a September callup).
