Re: Moana

My grandkids saw it and liked it.
But the star who sang the nominated song at the Oscars was awful.
I hope it is better in the actual movie. :)

Re: Moana

I've been watching it in bits and pieces with a yappy three year old :D

Which song is it 62?

Re: Moana

I enjoyed this. was fun. Ceetarette was iffy about it at first but she happily rewatched it in one sitting so she must have liked it a bit at least.

Which is good because we're going to a Moana themed twins 4th birthday party in a few weeks. Anyone know where I can get a coconut costume to dress up as a Kakamora?

Re: Moana

This is my 4-year-old's new Frozen. She would watch it multiple times a day if I'd let her.

Re: Moana

I think I'm gonna get facepaint and a basic coconut hat thing and just do that.

Or I could go as Maui but apparently that's "cultural appropriation" or something.

Re: Moana

My granddaughter and I are loving moanas and her grandmas outfits. Me, mostly because I wish I could dress that lightly all year

I love how the crab's "Shiny" song is simultaneously an homage to David Bowie and unmistakably a Lin-Manuel Miranda tune.

Jermaine Clement is also great at channeling Bowie.

Disney's animated films are . . . consistent. You won't find a bad one, but it's been a long time since there was a great one (the most recent I can think of was Mulan). Aardmann and Laika are making far better movies, and even Pixar -- which lately has had some duds -- managed with Inside Out

The problem with Disney is that they always play it safe.

Moana is fine, but pretty much routine.
