The Edge of Seventeen: Brandon Nimmo

No lon capisco either.
He may start on the DL (WBC hammy) then rehab at AAA. He might stay there until a move is made to free up an outfield roster spot. Or he might be immediately added to the major league roster so Conforto can continue to hone his card counting skills in Vegas.
Either way, barring a trade I believe only one of them can have a major league job at one time. The team seems to need another lefty hitting outfield reserve like a person needs a third nostril.
But he does play center field.
A lot of variables here. So ...
No lon capisco.

I like Zimmo and wish he was an awesome center fielder, and hit more home runs. But he did well in a reserve role last year all things considered.

9-47 290/340/400 in 275 NYM PA is probably aggressive but that's what I'm going with.

Traded in July, not in the big one.

Brandon Nimmo was a late scratch from the Las Vegas 51s lineup (even later than Matt Reynolds), and is reportedly on his way to New York to take Juan Lagares' roster spot.

Bubonic Plague?

And how exactly does one go about acquiring a partially collapsed lung?

oe: NYDN: Nimmo said he experienced shortness of breath after the July 4 game for a brief period of time and some tightness in his back. He did not say anything to the Mets initially. He said he mentioned it in passing before Friday's game.
Terry Collins said there was no collision or fall that caused the issue.

But, hey, doctors assured the Mets that the condition is "not life threatening". So there's that.

Re: The Edge of Seventeen: Brandon Nimmo

And just yesterday, just as I was demanding Nimmo pinch hit, I was also putting up a post about players whose careers were interrupted by TB.

You joke about bubonic plague, but it's a real issue in the west among prairie dog populations. I don't know if that's somehow transmittable to humans, but prairie dogs do live in places like Wyoming.

What first popped into my mind was Ike Davis and his valley fever, but it might not be something viral like that. A partially collapsed lung can also happen from blunt trauma — running into a wall or getting hit by a pitch or something.

Re: The Edge of Seventeen: Brandon Nimmo

There have been several human cases of the plague in New Mexico just this year.
It is treatable these days and fortunately I think we've learned a few things about sanitation since the middle ages so it's not expected to break out and kill 1/3 of the population on the continent.

And just the other day I was reading about someone's death (forget who at this point) and the description sounded a lot like Valley Fever.
