Michael Pineda just lost a perfect game in the 7th inning at the Yanx home opener.
Evan Longoria was the [crossout:17wca2c5]culprit[/crossout:17wca2c5] hero doubling into the LF corner with two outs.
2-0 Yanx thru 6-1/2. 11 Ks for Pineda

oe: now 3-0 heading for the 8th

Also from this week's 'TWIB' notes.
This is the first season for MLB without either Vin Scully or Connie Mack being part of the game since ... 1885!!
'86 was the first year Mack played professionally. His final year as Philly A's manager was 1950, coincidentally the first year Scully started broadcasting for the Dodgers.
Mack was born Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy in East Brookfield, MA during the second year of the Civil War.

Hopefully Dallas Braden will carry the ball now, and will still be broadcasting Sunday night games on ESPN 40 years from now.

I have a severe case of Bradenphobia.
