Six Met home runs on the first homestand, causing slight ripples amid the all-time regular Citi Field Met roundtripper standings.

• Lucas Duda extends his first-place lead over David Wright to eleven after belting No. 61.

• Wilmer Flores, with HR No. 25, creeps to within two of Daniel Murphy for fifth place.

• Yoenis Cespedes unknots a tie with Jose Reyes, his 20th HR putting him in seventh place.

• Michael Conforto's twelfth gives him sole possession of the fourteenth slot after sharing it with Kirk Nieuwenhuis.

• Jay Bruce's pair of circuit blasts elevated him into a four-way tie for 27th. Bruce has five, along with Justin Turner, Rod Barajas and Gary Sheffield.

Eight of the first 10 being active is sort of impressive.

Considering that the fences were so far away that the Mets didn't homer at all at Citi in its first four seasons, it's not entirely surprising.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

Top 10 INACTIVE (as Mets, at least) Citi Field HR Leaders
Davis 30
Murphy 27
Pagan 15
Beltran 14
Hairston 13
Nieuwenhuis 11
Bay 10
Francoeur 9
Recker 7

Pagan, Beltran and Francoeur completely predated the 2012 fence pull-in.

Davis, Bay and Hairston predated the 2012 pull-in, departed before the 2015 pull-in.

Murphy predated the 2012 pull-in, played one season past the 2015 pull-in.

Recker arrived before the 2015 pull-in, played one season past the 2015 pull-in.

Byrd and Valdespin arrived after the 2012 pull-in, departed before the 2015 pull-in.

I guess I don't mean to suggest that the Mets are providing impressive power (though they are), but rather I guess that they are providing impressive retention.

Daniel Murphy excepted.

I assume no opponents have more than Stanton's 20?

I don't track it, but I understand he leads the pain parade.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

As we speak, the Three Amigos from last season's playoff drive -- Cespedes, Reyes and Cabrera -- are tied for 7th with 20 Citi Field HRs apiece.

Gosh, those guys do everything together.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

The chart, it is a changin' a little. With July 31 looming, some of the Citi Field All-Time Home Run stalwarts may have swatted their last in a home Mets uniform. Or not. We'll see.

Conforto has been the big mover, surging into seventh place. Flores has steadily climbed into a two-way tie for fourth with Ike Davis. Cespedes has stalled in tenth place, trailing Cabrera and the resilient Reyes, while d'Arnaud is stuck in the mud in the eleventh.

Updated standings through July 23, 2017.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

Today's HR by Giancarlo Stanton (just one so far although there may be more to come) gives him [u:2z2p6t8l]101 at Marlins Park[/u:2z2p6t8l] since that stadium opened ... in a park that's bigger than CitiField, and two years newer.

Just sayin'

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

Duda's pinned the flag up there nicely at 71. I think the best candidate to take that from him is Conforto, currently in fifth place.

Duda, of course, could sign with the Phillies or somebody and keep adding to his total.

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

Well, GF's list above is as a NYM only (otherwise Murph would be in 3rd place with 32*) so Duda's not likely to be adding to his total anytime soon.
Stanton, btw, is one behind Cespedes for CitiField HRs. Utley has a mere 14

* he also hit one at Shea in 67 career ABs

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

With two homestands remaining, several totals are frozen and at least one may be getting loose in Port St. Lucie. As always, this is as Mets, regular-season at Citi Field, 2009-present. Bold indicates current Met, active roster or DL.

2. Wright 50
3. Granderson 38
4. Flores 33
5. Davis 30
6. Conforto 27
6. Murphy 27

19. Francoeur 9
20. Lagares 7
20. R. Rivera 7

Re: Citi Field Power Surge 2017

They're done slugging at Citi Field for 2017. When Dominic Smith went deep in home game 81, the videoboard informed us it was the 100th Met home run of the season hit at the death valley turned band box. In the postgame notes, it said 101. Either way, the homers continued to fly this year. Hard to believe there was a time they barely crawled.

Here's how the power has surged on all-time regular-season basis through nine seasons. (Players who are still Mets as far as we know in bold, which is also in bold, in case you don't know what bold is.)
