Kong, I may have steered you wrong. We said our backgrounds were both Lithuanian. My wife did a search thingie on both of us. It showed her as German (about 65%) and Scottish(about 35%) (Who woulda' known?) and my background is Dutch/ Luxembourg!!! If you remember a skit from Monty Python, I'm a "Bloody Phlegm"! Anyway, it will be interesting to see what your DNA reveals. Later

These tests intentionally misconstrue the relationship between ethnicity and DNA. They merely tell you what very general region of very specific parts of your genetic material are associated with at higher degrees. The breakdowns of % nationalities is completely made up. (The association between nationality and geographical region is an artificial construct to begin with). In the words of Professor in the field: the public really misunderstand (misled) about what the results show, e.g they won't conclusively show that you have middle-eastern or Scandinavian ancestry, that is total nonsense. It's more along the lines of "these markers are more common in people from X and these are more common in Y". Anyhow, a Blessed Easter to you and KB.

I don't have high expectation and aware of the gray, grayer and whatnot areas. As I've said in the other thread my birth father's heritage is a complete mystery. It's not something I thought I cared about much twenty years ago but with this new science available to the public for the cost of a steak dinner is intriguing and fun to me.
