OoTSB, 4/26

It's a little early to be scoreboard watching, but there's some hot lineup action out there today. The Reds' starting pitcher is named "Rookie Davis." He is, you might have guessed, a first-year player.

The Royals' infield includes Whit Merrifield at second and Cheslor Cuthbert at third. If it was 1958, I'm not sure which of these young academy students I'd choose for my cotillion escort.

No word yet on whether Gift Ngoepe is in the lineup tonight for the Bucs. Hope he is.

Re: OoTSB, 4/26

Eric Thames, the Californian via Korea sensation for the Brewers, merely singled in Milwaukee's 5-run 1st inning this afternoon so he remains 'stuck' on 11 HRs 22 games into the season.
The only downside to his start is that 8 of the 11 taters have come vs the Cincy Reds pitching staff. And in addition to the powah, he's 'slashing' a tidy .371/.482/.929 coming in to today's game.

A LOT of folks implying strongly that he's used his extended Korean vacation as an extended pharmaceutical sabbatical.

A couple of Cubs pitchers apparently had some stuff to say which, unless you've got something to back it up, is probably better left unsaid.

I liked Thames's reaction to those comments and to being tested twice already this season with the prospect of more to come; "I've got plenty of urine and blood"

Hey, that's all you can do. "Test me. Go ahead."
