Hey Hey Hansel!

Hansel Robles is 4-0 this season! He's on a pace to go 28-0!

I know that wins and losses aren't the most meaningful of stats, and that's especially true of relief pitchers. But it's interesting as a statistical quirk to see a reliever leading the team in wins. The only time that's happened over a full season in Mets history is in 1983, when Jesse Orosco won 13 games.

I know how steep the odds are against it, but wouldn't it be great to see him win 20 games this year? What a fun oddity that would be!

Re: Hey Hey Hansel!

Years ago, I had a middle reliever win 20 games in OOTP. He had twelve or thirteen late in the season, so I decided to put him in every chance I could for him to get a legitimate bullpen W. He reached 20, which was cool, until the following offseason when he demanded a Cy Young-like salary bump. Sorry, pal.

That's great.

I always thought if you used relief aces the way they should optimally be used: putting them in tie games in the eighth or sometimes as early as the seventh, the best would be getting 20 wins to go with 20 saves.

I'm all for any pitcher on the roster winning 20 games.
