Suddenly the Mets lead is cut in half. Gsellman can't avoid the "give back" inning as he gives up a 1 out home run to Bell.

Duda strikes out with Walker running. Throw beats Walker by quite a bit, but the tag missed Walker the first time and got his left knee just as his right foot hit the bag. Walker wanted Terry to challenge, but Terry decided not to do so. Walker might have had a case that the tag was too late by the time it actually got on him, but too close to overturn the call of out. Now can Gsellman shut the Pirates down and hold on to the lead.

Cervelli is on my fantasy team. He seems to be off more than he plays. Tonight's report: Francisco Cervelli (illness) remains out of the Pirates' lineup on Saturday. Advice: Cervelli was scratched from Friday's game with sinus issues. Elias Diaz, who drove in six runs Friday night, will get another start behind the plate for the Pirates. Makes some of our guys seem suddenly a little less mambly pambly

It takes 96 pitches, but Gsellman safely gets through 5 innings. Hopefully the Mets can tack on a few insurance runs in the home half of the 5th. I let Gsellman go back out to start the 6th. Every out he can give the team is important. The less outs the bullpen has to get, the better it is for the Mets.

I'm remembering the year that Fernando Nieve pitched every day the first month of the season—the radio booth was calling him "Nightly Nieve"—and then rapidly declined and never really found himself. He got hurt and never found his way back. Looking him up, he's still active, but has been pitching mostly in foreign leagues ever since. Don't be Fernando Nieve, Fernando Salas.

For a moment there, i thought Wilmer had a second home run. Then I was pretty sure it was going to be a double off the wall. Then Frazier make s a nice running catch just before he bangs into the wall. So much for insurance. It's all on Reed's shoulders now.

Nice win. It certainly wasn't easy. The Pirates kept getting men on base, but they just couldn't drive them in as they stranded 12 base runners.

So we couldn't see who if anyone was ready to take over for Reed if Polancos ball traveled a few more feet. Gzelly did ok I guess, he has a winning record now if you can believe it but the Pirates aren't that good. We had an 8 am Baseball game this morning so Lunchpail was falling asleep by the 8th. The fireworks were a long commercial for the upcoming concerts. I booed the Blinkin Park show show offending the folks sitting in front of us. The Classic East show seems redonkulous I'd totally go but we're leaving for vacation that day. I don't like Walker anymore but he's still doing good things every so often but Cabrera is terrible. Our neighbor Gary is the biggest Pirates fan I know and saw on Facebook that today was his birthday. During the game he got a bday greeting on the scoreboard.

I would too, but I'm not sure what to do with Harvey. Does he go to the pen? Do they trade him? Release him??? This is a surprising development, but Harvey is looking like a guy who might be non-tendered in the offseason.
